I didn't Die!

I'm home after some very unsuccessful surgery. I was now suppose to be uterus free, but my Doctor (lovely man) decided not to go ahead with the "ute" removal. I had this really corny joke for after he had given me this hysterectomy. "the UTE has left the garage". Well I thought it was funny. So in conclusion I ended up with him doing a lapraoscomy and getting rid of a few adhesions. I have two weeks off. I then have to put myself into menopause and become a complete bitch (so my friends tell me) then I have to have another major operation to remove the "Ute" and probably have a bowel resection at the same time. Yippy, yeah, can't wait.

Funny thing is I didn't die, as the nightly dreams I had leading up to the surgery. I'm alive, but slightly disappointed. Other thing to note is that I told my No 3 child that I am doing this blog. I wonder if she will find it. hehe.

I'm wee Todd it, I'm Sofa King We Todd it

This always bring my inner giggle out. I have played this joke on my kids resulting in rolled eyes and telling me how pathetic I am. I just love it.

Work is Boring!

I started a new job in January this year with a large construction company. We submitted a tender on the May 14th. This was an amazing experience, working long hours and not being with my family for almost a month. One day I worked from 8am to 2am the following morning. I actually understand why people become workaholics. There were plenty of up and downs and you get to see peoples true personalities when under pressure.

I met a wonderful lady who was temporially on this tender. She was such a inspiration to me, kept me motiviated and made me laugh. At first I thought she was a little mad – then I realized how similar I was to her. She has 2 girls roughly around the same age as me and we are only 10 days apart in age. We loved all things nerdy, i.e. Doctor Who and computers. She has now moved back home – 1000 km away. It’s amazing when you just click with someone. I wished she lived near me. I miss her.

The tender party was the best night out I have had in years. I learnt that Red Bull and Vodka really does give you wings. I even had several men hit on me and now that I’m old and saggy it was quite suprising. Another work college tells me I’m quite the flirt when I party. I don't believe that for a second, I am old and sedated now!

I just reread my last post – my apoligies for such poor English – I recall I had written it after a few wines. All posts will be sober from now on.

Why is work boring you might ask – I HAVE NOTHING TO DO. I think in the last 2 weeks, I have done a total of 10 hours actual work. We won’t know if we get this tender September, so it’s a waiting game. A girl can only Google so much or watch rerun’s of TV shows. I have been getting into other peoples blogs, which reminds me how poorly I write. Maybe I should do an extention English course, or maybe I should have listened at school all those years ago.

I just think I will write mindless dribble on my blog everyday – not that anyone will read it.

Looking back at what I have written today – the amount of times I have written “I” is amazing. I guess Blogs are all about “I”.

I just found my Blog!!!

Well it has been a while.... a long long while. I haven't been able to log onto this blog because I got a new computer - lost the details then tonight in my infinite wisdom worked out how to log back onto it.
Live now that I am FORTY TWO has been busy and a challenge. The boy is a Uni doing a music degree, which means 4 more years of support. I left home at 16 - supported myself and was very independent. Hard to relate to.
My girls who are 13 and 15 are a major challenge, they don't have the same motivation as the Boy - Lazy like there mum. I just hope they can get it together and enjoy life.
I have just returned from the Bluesfest - OMG (yes I can use teenage acronyms if I want to - HANNAH) What can I say, it was the best time I have had all year. I intend to make it my yearly pilgrimage. Highlights were Buddy Guy, The Swell Season, Umphrey MgGee and hanging with my Cousin Jeremy and his partner Kristian. They are in there 30's and I could defiantly not keep up. Yes – this is me after 40 – so I can't party like I'm 35 any more. That's why I love the Bluesfest – you can take a camping chair – sit yourself down and appreciate the music. Am I old?

I just love watching live music. This year I also took the boy to the BDO. This was NOT the live music experience I was to repeat. It started out with the boy and two of his mate at the pub at 10 am in the morning... You see the boy turned 18 on that day so he could legally drink. Me trying to be cool mum said – let's drink! BAD MOVE. After two jugs of beer we wander down to the BDO at 11 in the morning. We walk in – go to the main stage and that was the last time I see the boy. Lucky I actually have other friends I caught up with, that was fun, I got to see Magic Dirt – who I have been wanting to see for 15 years. Then we tried to get into the Main Stage to see Lily Allen. This is where it all went very wrong. We got caught in a crowd crush. I managed to see Dizzy Rascal and lilly then I totally couldn't handle it . If it wasn't for a few text from a mate, I would of gone home. I lost my other mates and ended up on a hill watching Muse. Highlights – taking the Boy to the pub for the first time and buying him a drink. Dizzy Rascal singing Bonkers – my theme song at the moment and Magic Dirt. Never again will I go to a BDO – too many people – toilets were disgusting NOTHING like the bluesfest.

Other major highlight of my year was seeing “them Crooked Vultures” Josh Homes” is the best looking ranga EVER. I want and would have his babies. Promise to write more soon.
